Well... this is awkward. Peeta Mellark and I got chosen to participate in the Hunger Games. Just seeing him makes me cringe. Why? Because of something that happened a long time ago. I was going through the wealthy section of District 12 looking for food since my family did not have any and were starving. I tried looking in the trash of this bakery and got caught by the lady who was running the place. I went away but was so hungry that I had to lie down by a nearby tree. I was dying from starvation. During what I thought was my last moment of life I felt someone coming. I thought I was going to be punished by the lady, but it turned out to be Peeta. We were in the same grade at school. He had a loaf of burnt bread on him and looked like he had gotten smacked. He quickly gave it to me and returned to the place. Quite sure he purposely burned loaves of bread to give me some since he saw me getting scolded by his mother. I was grateful but also embarrassed that he saw me in that state. At that moment all I could do was recover and run back to my house to feed my mom and sister. I was glad that I was able to bring something for them. I am incredibly grateful for what Peeta did, but I just feel awkward around him since that happened. Oh well, we are going to the Hunger Games together, so I better suck it up and focus on the task at hand, surviving.
